Ben loved working with
Kasie!!! It is so funny to watch how he learns things and then
applies them immediately on the ice. One of the things that he
really picked up on from her was cutting down the angles that the
shooter has by coming out of the crease. I noticed that at one
point during the lesson she had him leave the crease and cut down
the angle. When he skated out he had moved away from the post,
basically leaving the entire side open for a clear shot. Rather than
just telling him what to do she took the time to show him. She had
your son stand in Ben's place so that he could see the net wide open
and why it is important to know where you are in relation to the
post/net. He is also determined to learn how to kick his legs out
faster when he is down in the butterfly position.
When we got home on
Saturday he was so excited about it that he told his grandparents
and his little sister about it. I think that in the hour she spent
with him it has to be some of the best instruction that he has
received from anyone (possibly with the exception of you!).

Basically,
wherever you are that's where I'll be. I got a really nice
complement on my skating yesterday by a player I hadn't skated w/
for a year. She was noticing how much I'd improved and it is 100%
due to your correction and instruction so I'm sticking w/ what
works.--Maria E, Adult Skater
I'll be taking classes in the future. I felt an immediate
improvement in my play, my team captain mentioned it last night.
Plus it's just fun to skate!-- Dave, Adult Skater
I'm an adult beginner. Just wanted to drop you a note to say how
much I enjoyed - and learned - from a set of four classes with Joyce
Strong in Tyngsboro. I've skated and played hockey for three years
now, and Joyce really showed me how I can get to the next level in
my skating with agility and edge work. Great drills, some very
unique and challenging ones. I was getting settled into a routine of
grinding it out in pickup and league hockey, and the drills made me
realize how much better I can become!
She's patient, but also pushes her students hard to try to do it
right so we can learn more quickly. Speaking for myself, that's what
I am looking for. Hope to take more classes with her soon, and I've
had great experiences with the Hockey Academy adult clinics in
Woburn as well.--Dave, Adult Skater
First I must thank you for
last night, (Friday) Dean had a blast. He came home and talked his
father's ear off for an hour about what you did and what he learned
that he didn't think he could even do. --Squirt 3 Skater's Parent...
Update... Dean is now a
Squirt 1 player!
Nick's two main points in favor of returning were the two you were
concerned about! He loved that you stopped him to correct mistakes
& he appreciated your comment that the parents were spending hard
earned money to make these lessons possible. He liked that you took
the time to address his individual needs. He is thrilled to get the
help.
Jack said it was refreshing to be in a small group setting where he
could actually talk to you if he needed to ask a question. He said
you are a great instructor and he's looking forward to
continuing.--Squirt and Bantam Skaters' Parent
By
the way Alex made the Mite 1’s. I credit you with a lot of the
improvement, when the season started I thought he was in the bottom
1/3 of the skaters on the Mite 3 team. He has more to do for sure,
but has made great progress. Parent of former Mite 3 player
who is now a Mite 1 player!
I'd like to commend you
on the job you've done with Calvin. Even with the few lessons that
he has had, I've noticed a big improvement in his play, even if he
hasn't noticed it himself.
Ben enjoys the sessions with
you and always tells his friends about your daughter and son in law.
